Well said, Ben

Here's a quote, courtesy of the Freedom Forum calendar:

"When men differ in opinion, both sides ought equally to have the advantage of being heard by the publick; when truth and error have fair play, the former is always an overmatch for the latter."
-- Benjamin Franklin, 1731

So when does Rod Blum get to respond to Al Franken? You said in a previous comment in this blog that Rod would be given the opportunity to respond.

Or are all you really saying is that only your fellow travellers have that opportunity?

It’s been four months, so I didn’t remember exactly where Rod and I left the Franken affair. In general, I have reservations about rebuttals to rebuttals; it starts a cycle that might never end. But I extended that opportunity to Rod, as my blog entry indicated. He did make passing reference to Franken in his February column. I checked back with Rod this week, to see if I had dropped the ball on his response. He replied, "After reflecting on your email back in January, I decided to not rebut Franken because of the cycle it starts. But thanks for the opportunity!"
